Let’s unravel the secrets behind crafting a bowl of Mussels Marinières that’s as delightful to prepare as it is to savour. Bon appétit!

  • Ingredients: (serves 4 persons)

    2 kg fresh mussels
    2 shallots, finely chopped
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 cup dry white wine
    1/2 cup heavy cream
    2 tablespoons unsalted butter
    2 tablespoons olive oil
    1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
    Salt and pepper to taste
    Crusty bread, for serving

  • Method:
  1. Get your mussels cleaned from our shop. Our team will happily do this for you.
  2. Prepare Ingredients:
Finely chop the shallots, mince the garlic, and chop the parsley.
  3. Cooking:
In a large pot, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat.
Add the chopped shallots and garlic. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
    Add the mussels
Increase the heat to medium-high. Add the cleaned mussels to the pot and stir well to coat them with the shallot and garlic mixture.
Deglaze with wine; pour in the white wine and cover the pot with a lid.
Let the mussels cook for about 5-7 minutes, shaking the pot occasionally, until the mussels have opened.
  4. Finish:
Once the mussels have opened, remove the lid. Stir in the heavy cream and chopped parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another minute to heat through.
  5. Serve:
Serve the Mussels Marinières hot in bowls, with plenty of the cooking broth. Serve with crusty bread for dipping.
